
2004 Award Ceremony

ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER
13TH, the 2004 Ambassador of Conscience Award ceremony was
held in Madrid's, Teatro Monumental. The evening included a reading
of Seamus Heaney's poem, 'From the Republic of Conscience' by the
Spanish actress María Galiana. The Awards were then presented
to Mary Robinson, by Nobel Literature Laureate, José Saramago
and to Hilda Morales Trujillo, by English Labour MP and former actress
Glenda Jackson. Following the Awards presentation Madrid’s
renowned RTVE Orchestra performed a special benefit concert of Aaron
Copland’s ‘Fanfare of the Common Man’ and Mozart’s
‘39th Symphony in B Major’
